Ukes for Schools Inc. is dedicated to bringing the joy of music to elementary and middle school-aged children at NO COST to the kids or schools involved. We do this by introducing students to the happiest instrument in the world – The Ukulele!
Through a partnership with The Strum Shop, Ukes for Schools is able to provide quality, entry-level ukuleles and teacher training to schools & organizations throughout Placer and Sacramento counties as well as other areas within Northern California. Ukes for Schools has received donations which have allowed us to loan hundreds of ukuleles to students.
Many of our fundraising contributions are made by The River City Ukulele Orchestra, Kala Music, and donors who believe that music can and does help a child grow up to a be a much happier and more productive person in life. Exposure to music can be a life-long journey. Ukes for Schools wants to create a happy ukulele world with happy ukulele people.
What We Do…

We have already provided hundreds of ukuleles throughout the area! This is all made possible through the fundraising efforts of the River City Ukulele Orchestra and all the wonderful donors who believe that music can and does help a child grow up to be a much happier and more productive person in life. We want to help the kids of today to better themselves through music for tomorrow.

Why Ukulele?
The ukulele is a not a complicated instrument to play. It is very portable and easy to learn. You can play your own music or accompany other musicians with just a little patience and practice.

Ukes for Schools, Inc. is a local “grass-roots” organization. The money we raise is for the promotion and purchase of musical instruments and education in our community. - We support the Survivor Girl Ukulele Band Project: Bringing restoration and hope to survivors of human trafficking through the healing power of music and love.
- We also serve as a donation drop off and repair center for Guitars for Vets, Sacramento: a program offering free guitar lessons and supplies to veterans all over our country.
