Aloha and greetings from The River City Ukulele Orchestra!
The River City Ukulele Orchestra is a community-based group of like-minded individuals from Roseville, CA and surrounding areas who enjoy delving into the finer points of ukulele playing as a group! Our goal is to raise funds for our Ukes for Schools non-profit program. We do this by performing several times a year at fairs, festivals and senior residence events.
The River City Ukulele Orchestra has played together since 2011. Our song list is vast and varied. We play music and sing popular songs from the past century in addition to current hits. Our orchestra has over 80 active players, however, we “size-to-fit” depending on our performance venue. Our typical gig set is 45-50 minutes. We can play one or more sets if you would like.
Our orchestra is “For Hire”!
Planning a luau, luncheon or afternoon activity? Would you like some fun and invigorating music and entertainment? The River City Ukulele Orchestra can come and play at your next event. The River City Ukes accepts donations to our non-profit program, Ukes for Schools. Donations are tax-deductible.
Interested? Care to join? Come on down!
Any experienced ukulele player can join our Orchestra – the more, the merrier! Players should be able to sight-read chords (basic, first-position chords), be comfortable with basic rhythms and strums and should be able to get along well with others. Bring a good vibe! We practice every 2nd, 3rd & 4th Saturday of the month at 10am at The Strum Shop. We play common and familiar songs from many eras.
Our music vibe is casual and inviting so if you just want to come and check it out, don’t be shy. Bring your uke (or borrow one of ours). We’ll set you up with some music. Sit and play a spell with us. Come back again if you had fun.
To join the River City Ukes, complete the membership form and bring it to a rehearsal. Please stop by a rehearsal and/or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
