The Strum Shop is a family owned full service, musical instrument store opened by Daniel Elliott Jr and Stu Herreid in May of 2012.  The Strum Shop auditorium is a meeting place for classes, concerts and other events. The shop also offers lessons, a full service instrument repair shop, and more!

Sadly, Stu Herreid passed away in September, 2016, however his contagious joy continues to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.  His legacy lives on through the Strum Shop community.  “Stu was my friend and I miss him,” says Elliott, “but God called him home to become the Patron Saint of Strummers.”

The Strum Shop was selected as a Top 100 Dealer in 2016 by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), the global association of music products and music retailers.

Daisy Caire Bluegrass Trio

Saturday, January 8 - 6-7:15pm, Cost: $15.00
A talented bluegrass trio from Placerville. Daisy Caire was recently nominated for IBMA’s 2021 Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year Award!

Based in Northern California, Daisy Caire has been making splashes in the bluegrass community since she was six years old. Caire sang and picked her first songs with her family as the El Dorado Family Band, and then joined the popular youth bands Rambling Minors and North Country Blue.
In Chasin’ After the Wind, Daisy Caire has produced a beautiful, soulful, and mature debut that not only features her powerful singing, songwriting, and rhythm guitar playing but also establishes her as one of the most exciting of today’s young virtuoso bluegrass guitarists, with a full, rich sound and a thoughtful, fluid style devoid of clichés and licks but full of melody and invention.”

— Scott Nygaard (former Acoustic Guitar Magazine Editor, Grammy nominated musician)

Daisy's music has feeling! I feel it and you will too. She takes the risk of showing a bit of herself, and we reap the rewards. I'm sure this is just the beginning of a long and rich musical journey.”

— David Grier (three time IBMA Guitar Player of the Year)

… the next big thing from the fertile ground of Northern California”

Bluegrass Today

Caire possesses a lovely sense of innocence and playfulness that’s simply irresistible. It comes through clearly in both her vocal mannerisms and her original songs.”

Bluegrass Unlimited

Daisy’s guitar playing is beautifully self-confident. With the sureness one earns from diligent study of tradition and technique, she applies her rich tone and expressive phrasing to originals and standards alike. Chasin’ After the Wind provides Daisy an opportunity to explore her harmonically progressive sensibilities and a wide variety of string band sounds with an impressive list of collaborators. She demonstrates a willingness to open her heart in her songwriting and performance, and it is a joy to hear her play.”

— Brittany Haas (Live From Here house band and Dave Rawlings Machine)

Daisy Caire is an extraordinary musician. She’s got power and poise, a focused mind that pays attention to detail, a fine clear voice, a fluid, able touch on the guitar, and a sense of form in her song craft that is mature well beyond her years.”

— Jody Stecher (Grammy finalist and Indy Award winner)

Daisy is a unique and imaginative guitar player whose playing is always musical and evocative despite her impressive technical proficiency on the instrument. With her new record “Chasin’ After the Wind”, she has created a varied yet beautifully-cohesive collection of songs and tunes (both original and traditional) where she skillfully leads some top-notch musicians through her musical world on not only guitar, but fiddle, octave mandolin and vocals as well. I really enjoyed listening and I can’t wait to hear what this talented musician has in store for us all next!”

— Jordan Tice (Hawktail)

Chasin' After The Wind," the first solo recording by sixteen year-old flatpick-phenom Daisy Caire, is an amazingly ambitious body of work drawn from a wide range of musical styles which Daisy has explored fearlessly and rendered expertly with the help of producer-mentor Laurie Lewis.” - Keith Little (recorded/toured with Dolly Parton, Rose Maddox, Vern Williams, Ricky Scaggs and Kentucky Thunder, David Grisman, Peter Rowan)

Muriel Anderson is a guitarist/harp-guitarist who embraces music from all over the world with grace, joy and humor.
