Join renowned ukulele performer, teacher, and endorsing Kala artist Stuart Fuchs for a very memorable experience of learning and ukulele fun! Stuart is an award winning multi-instrumentalist and has presented his fun, innovative and holistic workshops at ukulele festivals and retreat centers internationally.
Stuart will answer many nagging questions about playing while you play fun and accessible songs in a variety of styles. You'll explore the stylistic nuances that create the true sounds of reggae, jazz, blues, etc. In addition, Stuart will share many new ukulele tricks that will be sure to spice up your playing including triplet strums, chucking, and other musical effects.
When practiced regularly, the playful and holistic method of "Ukulele Zen" will improve your body awareness, and enable you to experience deep relaxation and a sense of effortlessness while playing your ukulele. Stuart shares the benefits of over 20 years of yoga & meditation practice with his workshop attendees - you'll become "One with the Strum"!
This workshop is open to beginners through advanced students (some basic experience playing ukulele is recommended). There will be plenty of great takeaways for your home practice, new friends made, and much joy to be had learning together in community!!

About Stuart Fuchs
Stuart Fuchs is a performing and teaching artist who has presented his innovative & holistic music workshops at the top ukulele festivals across the US and Canada. In his concerts, Stuart balances virtuosity and heart on his classical guitar, ukulele, Native American flute & didjeridoo. Stuart is committed to a compassionate and holistic vision of music education and has taught and led clinics for all ages - from pre-K through college. He has arranged and performed the gypsy jazz guitar music of Django Reinhardt for full symphonic orchestras and was featured on PRI’s "The World” with his award winning gypsy jazz band “Babik”. In 2014 Stuart was awarded a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts for his work bringing healing music to cancer patients at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, where he was a professional artist in residence for over seven years. Stuart offers a holistic ukulele retreat called "Ukulele Zen" where he playfully blends meditation, yoga and qigong practice with the ukulele - this allows participants to learn how to access a much greater ease when playing. Stuart is an endorsing artist with Kala Ukuleles and currently tours internationally with the world renowned new age kirtan artist Snatam Kaur.
